The specimen study
The sturgeon study uses the elongated snout, rows of bony plates and asymmetrical tail to give the trophy fish a distinct silhouette. Its base value is the highest in the original game.
The specimen study is a way to observe the fish between voyages. Its appearance helps you recognise the subject; the entry’s base value and the game’s alignment rule explain what happens when it is caught.
Its place in Golden Current
Lake Sturgeon belongs to the trophy tier and begins at 720 base points. The final catch score can also include an accuracy bonus and a successful-catch sequence bonus. These additions are calculated by the original game.
The nearest fish must be within ten lane units when the hook checks the catch. A higher base value does not make a poorly aligned cast succeed. Watch the boat’s relation to the fish before choosing the drop.
Read the tier correctly
The trophy tier accounts for 2% of spawn selections. Lake sturgeon is the sole trophy species in this original game. Its high base value does not remove the need for an aligned drop.
A short voyage can produce an uneven mix. Read the board you have rather than waiting for a species the game has not guaranteed.
